Welcome to the Open Tech Talks newsletter! The rise of Generative AIThe rise of Generative AI has been overwhelming. Every organization is trying to use it, and vendors promote it everywhere. The challenge for technology folks like you and me is truly figuring out how to benefit from it. How are you handling this AI wave? During this week, I reviewed different use cases of Large Language Model implementation and found 2 examples. We had an earlier chance to cover the use cases for the Retail Industry to benefit from implementing Large Language Models. Below is the actual use case implemented by the very well-known retailer 3 use cases implemented by Carrefour at Carrefour fr:
Large Language Model Use case for Food outlets:This use case is targeted by Wendy's. During the drive-through, Wendy's restaurants will offer made-to-order by conversing with the customers with Generative AI rather than just offering fixed menu items; Gen AI can understand the made-to-order requests and answer customers' frequently asked questions. It will have data from the restaurant's menu, aligned with the business rules and oversea of the logic for conversation. Then, it will be integrated into the restaurant's Point of Sale system. It will help employees focus on serving fast, fresh-made, quality food and better service rather than investing time in ordering. |

This report has covered a few areas, such as the planning, development, and operation phases of generative AI models, where a systematic risk analysis should be conducted. For those of us involved in organizational projects that employ Large language models, it's crucial...
AI Tech Circle Hey Reader! I am back this week after taking a break for the Eid holidays. Recently, the UAE experienced the heaviest rainfall in its history, which posed significant challenges. The UAE leadership stepped forward to address the situation, and civil service departments and volunteers worked tirelessly day and night to support the residents affected by the heavy rain. This week started with the event 'MachinesCanSee' at the Museum of the Future, Dubai. It was quite a good...
AI Tech Circle Hey Reader! This weekend, my attention was drawn to the lecture from Yann LeCun, a Professor at NYU and Chief AI Scientist at Meta, titled 'Objective-Driven AI: Towards AI systems that can learn, remember, reason, plan, have common sense, yet are steerable and safe' and four design patterns for agents from Andrew Ng. The holiday period has started, and there will be no newsletter next week. An advance Eid Mubarak to whoever is celebrating. The first slide of 97 Slidedeck starts...
